From my point of view, first you need to know: - what is your goal? (like controlling lights / managing an alarm / managing your whole house from top to bottom / etc..) - based on that, which project is most suitable for you? I don’t understand what you mean by paid things? Personally I chose to equip myself only with Zigbee devices, moreover compatible with Zigbee2MQTT. I didn’t buy anything ---
