# Water temperature issue recognized by Gladys as a regular temperature

Hello,

When I receive the weekly summary, Gladys tells me that the temperature of the garage is abnormally high.

Indeed, she is basing this on the temperature of the water in my solar water heater.

We should create a «&nbsp;water temperature&nbsp;» feature

@cicoub13 thanks for taking into account the request from @gaetanb76. But then we should be able to change the type of an already created feature so as not to lose its history. But that’s probably not the same level of complexity, so maybe I should make a feature request?

I’ll add it to the issue. I think an automatic migration is complicated (automatically identifying this kind of device).

> The history is linked to the feature ID, not to its category or type. When a device is registered, an existing feature is updated without being recreated. Changing its type should therefore preserve the history.

But **the interface** only allows changing the category in a few predefined cases: switch ↔ light and shutter ↔ curtain.  
I suggest creating a separate feature request (citing this one)
