# Quick Tip: Tracking users on the map without OwnTracks

Hi everyone,

I wanted to track all my users on the map. Without a native app, this is not so easy and as stated in the documentation [here](https://gladysassistant.com/en/docs/integrations/owntracks/), you can solve this via OwnTracks. However, I don’t like this because I don’t want to have another app on my phone and those of my family.

My basic idea was: Presumably, it is possible to have location information for the users, otherwise OwnTracks could not bind it to the persons. So I thought, I can simply update the location information for persons. But there is no direct way to do this. @pierre-gilles it would actually be really cool if you could directly update the location information for persons in the form of fields/properties, and not only allow it via OwnTracks.

However, I have now found a somewhat elegant way around it. I built a scene that extracts the coordinates via the [Apple Device Tracker](https://community.gladysassistant.com/t/integration-externe-apple-device-tracker/10795) integration (Thanks @prohand) and the location sharing, and then simply sends a webhook to Gladys Plus in the same data format as OwnTracks would send 🙂

Works perfectly!

Yes, I’m not sure if it’s already a specific request. That’s why I tagged you here to see what you think about it in general. Only once we agree, I’ll create a post there.
