Thanks to the new AI features integrated into Discourse, this separation is no longer necessary: messages can now be automatically translated, and each member sees posts in the language they understand.
From now on, the single forum for the whole community will be this forum!
If you created your account in French, you will continue to see posts in French, whether they are posted in French or in English.
On the Discourse side, I started the translation of all posts several days ago using GPT-5 mini. Given the number of posts (35k in total), this will take a few more days and will cost a good hundred dollars in OpenAI credits
Please warmly welcome the new members who will join us in this community, and continue to post in your native language, posts will in any case be automatically translated!
Quick update on this: I have officially taken the international forum offline, and I posted a message to inform users that the new unified forum is now here
However, I just came across a message that has a somewhat short translation and doesnât convey the full information given in the original version. Have you seen any others? We may need to keep an eye on it.
Just a tip for anyone having the same problem as me. You have to set interface language to English to see the translations. In my case, Dutch, didnât work.
Strangely enough my message above is also in French. The rest is in English. If I go to settings and back, itâs in English. If I refresh itâs in French again. Itâs still a bit wobbly, but also an improvement for me as a very, very little French speaking person!
