Gladys Assistant 4.84.3: Synology (real fix), 217 home automation icons and TV remote

Hi everyone!

A small evening release, but with some very concrete fixes, including the real Synology fix, and the missing icons (snowflake, radiator, etc.) requested this morning

External Integrations: Real Synology Fix (NanoCPUs)

In 4.84.2, the detection of the CPU CFS support read the wrong JSON keys returned by Docker (CPUCfsQuota instead of CpuCfsQuota). Result: on some NAS (e.g. Synology DS920+), Gladys still thought it could apply NanoCPUs, and the installation of an external integration failed.

This is fixed: the detection now reads the correct keys, and the handling of NanoCPUs is more robust.

If you were stuck on Synology despite 4.84.2: this version should finally unlock the situation. Thanks to @spenceur for the logs and the docker info that helped find the real cause!

Scenes: 217 New Home Automation Icons

Following feedback from @mutmut / @Will_71: the scene icon selector now offers 217 additional icons focused on smart home (theme 2.1.0).

You will find in particular:

  • snowflake / air conditioning / heating
  • radiator, flame, thermostat
  • shutters, bulb, car, etc.

No more searching for a snowflake that didn’t exist :snowflake:

Television: Remote Control Buttons on the Dashboard

TV commands (play, pause, channels, volume, navigation, menu, etc.) are now managed as push buttons in the « room devices » box.

Practical for controlling a TV from the dashboard without going through a dedicated widget.

Scenes: Clearer Explanations on Condition Logic

In condition blocks (If / Else / Then and « Continue only if »), the UI now explains more clearly:

  • the AND between conditions
  • the OR within a block, and the AND between several blocks

Less ambiguity when building a somewhat complex scene.

External Integrations: More Expressive Scan and Installation Errors

  • Device Scan: timeout at 60 s (no more infinite spinner if the integration does not respond), plus a well-visible « Scan in progress » alert
  • Installation: if the manifest is invalid, Gladys now displays the details of the validation errors (instead of a simple « invalid manifest »)

Other Fixes

  • AI Assistant / Energy: the months were no longer offset by one month in the monthly consumption tables (forum feedback after 4.84.2)
  • Device Editing: the category selector no longer broke the display on binary sensors

As usual, Gladys will update automatically within 24 hours if you use Watchtower, otherwise you can do it in one click in the settings.

Don’t forget to configure Telegram to receive an alert on your phone when Gladys updates!

I love reading that an update follows the morning’s feedback

Regarding the remote control buttons, could this be linked to the Android TV Remote integration?

Yeah, absolutely

now we just have to wait (is there a way for impatient people like me to go faster  ? )

It’s still better! It’s buttons now.

You mean to update?

Yes, it’s one click in « Settings » → « Systems »

I always have this for me:

Press the button to force the update

oh I was expecting a more explicit message oops

If you wait a bit, you’ll see the message saying that an update is available

You’re right!

Proposal:

After clicking:

I have a small issue with the warchtower container that has been in the restarted state for 2 months and therefore doesn’t do anything

I just realized two days ago that I was on 4.64 (one or two releases away) instead of 4.84.

The manual update went well.

I don’t have much time to investigate, but if anyone has already had the problem and the solution, I’m interested.

Thanks and sorry, I hadn’t done any research beforehand.
