External integration: Meteo France

Thanks for the test!

The heat trigger only reacts to the threshold crossing: it triggers when the 24-hour forecast rises above 20 °C, not if it is already there.
And for it to reset, the forecast must drop below 18 °C for a full 24 hours. With 20 °C right now, the « episode » never ends, so it doesn’t reset.
Same thing after a Gladys restart: the first reading serves as a reference.
To test, a threshold slightly above the forecast highs for the coming days should work. I’m thinking of making it « once a day, » more natural for this kind of use.

@Chris75, an update is available, awaiting your tests

Ok, I’ve updated it and theoretically the trigger (set to 20°) should activate since it’s 14° at night and 23° during the day

@Will_71

I have recently started using the external Météo-France integration with Gladys and have noticed an issue with retrieving short-term rain forecasts.

After several checks and tests directly in the integration container, I opened an issue on GitHub to document the malfunction and facilitate its correction.

Here is the link to the issue: Pluie dans l'heure : Disponible = false malgré des prévisions valides · Issue #2 · William-De71/gladys-meteo-france · GitHub

For now, I prefer not to apply a local fix to keep a standard installation and benefit from a possible correction in a future update.

Have other users encountered the same problem?

Thanks for your work on this integration!

@Damien_D, thank you for your GitHub issue explaining your bug. I’ll look into it and let you know as soon as I’ve fixed it.

@Damien_D,
Thanks for this very precise report! You’re right: rain_product_available is obsolete. Météo-France sets it to 0 for perfectly covered cities (Strasbourg, Marseille, Bastia…), and Home Assistant removed this same check in 2024. The integration now relies solely on the presence of time slots: only overseas territories, with no time slots at all, remain “unavailable”.
Fixed in 1.6.1. The “Imminent Rain” and “End of Rain” triggers also work now for affected homes.

@Will_71

Perfect. That’s what I thought…

Thanks for the quick feedback!

See you soon

Let me know when you’ve updated

I received 2 rain alert messages in x minutes.

I think it works then.

I’ll observe today and give you feedback tonight.

Have a good day

… several evenings have passed since then and for me, it works. Thanks Will.
