Hello everyone,
after some tests during a convalescence a few years ago of controlling electric underfloor heating with various temperature sensors (outside, rooms, floor to limit it…) I’m back with a broader project that will certainly include heating management but the main topic is optimizing the use of surplus solar production.
And yes, until a few months ago it was more interesting to sell back than to consume (it was silly but that’s how it was). With the increase in electricity prices, it is now more sensible to use as much as possible the energy that is injected back into the grid.
Owner of an electric vehicle and not wanting to change my subscription, the objective is also to swap the priority between heating and charging.
Our charging station does not manage solar energy but can receive instructions in the TIC (Télé-information client) format like the Linky meter.
To handle the EV charging part,
- a Wi‑Fi energy meter to measure the surplus,
- a TIC (Télé-information client) simulator that will send « tampered » info to control the charger from an mA signal
and
The Raspberry Pi (RPI) with Gladys for:
- retrieving the meter info,
- a small simple management algorithm for a peak-hours (HP) tariff vs surplus ratio to optimize costs
- summer/winter setpoints for the max charging power,
- controlling the simulator via an mA board over I2C.
I’m just getting started and I’m already encountering some difficulties with the % setpoints that I want to display/modify on the dashboard but a bit more research before posting in the right category. By the way I didn’t see a Dashboard category but it must be under Configuration.
Have a good day to the community.
