Hi everyone! ![]()
A little gift for our German, Austrian, and Swiss friends ![]()
![]()
: here’s FRITZ!Box, the AVM box, present on nearly 9% of Home Assistant installations (the biggest missing from @pierre-gilles’s list). Everything works locally, via the box’s official TR-064 interface.
What it does
A FRITZ!Box device: connected internet yes/no, current speeds and line speeds, external IP, connection duration, guest Wi-Fi switch, and the « Reconnect » button.
The presence of the phones and PCs you choose (with a delay before « away » for phones that are sleeping).
The call monitor (optional): incoming call, missed call, and call ended triggers, with the name pulled from the box’s directory.
Two other triggers: internet connection restored (with the duration of the outage) and external IP changed.
Scene actions: enable guest Wi-Fi (with a timer, and the name and password to send to guests), disable it, and reconnect internet.
A « FRITZ!Box » widget: speeds, internet status, who’s home, guest Wi-Fi.
The cool thing
Saturday night → guest Wi-Fi for 5 hours, and the password sent to the guest group
Missed call from Grandma → message on Telegram
No phones at home → lights off, heating lowered
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum. FRITZ!OS 7 or newer.
It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In a hurry? Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address GitHub - guim31/gladys-fritzbox: AVM FRITZ!Box for Gladys Assistant: device presence, internet throughput, guest Wi-Fi and calls, on the local network · GitHub
- In the box: enable access for applications and UPnP status information transmission, then create a user with the « FRITZ!Box settings » right.
- In Gladys: « Test connection », then the Discovery tab.
- For calls: dial
#96*5*on a phone connected to the box.
Honest small reservations: one box per installation, external IPv4 only, and FRITZ!SmartHome (DECT plugs and thermostats) is not included: that will be another integration.
Developed without the hardware (ohne die Hardware entwickelt): tests are based on real box responses and a fake TR-064 server in a container, but nothing beats a real FRITZ!Box. @ruegerth, if you have one, I’d be happy to have your feedback (in German, the forum translates
).
Like the previous ones, coded with the help of Claude Code
. Independent project, not affiliated with AVM.
Your feedback is welcome ![]()
