I installed Matterbridge with the Somfy-tahoma plugin, then added it to Gladys which has an Apple TV for HomeKit, and I notice a difference between the shutter positions in Gladys and in Home. (I use the Apple HomeKit integration between Gladys and the Apple TV)
In Home the shutter position is inverted.
In Gladys and Matterbridge the shutter position is at 100% and in Home the shutter position is at 0%
Hi @froch
so I’ll have to tell you that the truth is elsewhere (cf. X-Files )
I opened an issue here because this has nothing to do with Gladys.
And like you I noticed there were differences.
Be careful not to confuse % closed and % open because no one speaks the same language across all these apps.
Personally, I trust my Tahoma app for the true %.
Some info/remarks I noted:
Tahoma : % open (my reference for the %)
Matterbridge : % closed different from (100% - %Tahoma)
HomeKit : I couldn’t say because after a somewhat odd test I dropped it since I find the slider awful for selecting a specific position (very personal opinion), and besides I have the Tahoma app on my phone and iPad so HomeKit is of no use to me
Gladys reflects Matterbridge if and only if you control the shutters from Gladys, otherwise you don’t have the correct default value
Matterbridge does not update if the roller shutters (VR) are controlled from Tahoma (I opened an issue here) and therefore neither does Gladys nor HomeKit.
If you open a shutter halfway (for example) with Tahoma, and in Matterbridge it shows 0% then it will remain 0% in Matterbridge.
Then from Gladys you want to open your shutter (0% for the shutter position because we use % closed), well nothing will happen because in Matterbridge it’s already at 0%. But if you set it to 1% then it will work because the value sent is different from the value stored in Matterbridge.
Of course the position will update in Tahoma but not with the same % that you sent from Gladys (except fully open or fully closed of course).
So. Personally I would use Gladys to set up automation but not to manage daily control; I have manual scenes in Tahoma (but no automation because the scenario system is not great) and I use it regularly so I will never have the reflected position of my shutters in Matterbridge.
Sure, I could switch everything over but not for now as long as full local access isn’t available (in progress on the Matterbridge-somfy-tahoma side but not yet operational, see my tests here).
