I plan to control the heating in my playroom via Gladys.
Not having found a pilot wire module in Matter/Thread, I resigned myself to using Zigbee, so I got a Nodon Zigbee 3.0, my IKEA DIRIGERA being capable of handling Zigbee if I understand correctly.
So now I have everything:
My DIRIGERA bridge configured in Gladys
my NODON module
Upon installation the NODON module was automatically connected to my network without any action on my part.
In the IKEA app I don’t see the pilot wire module (IKEA Home Smart doesn’t support heaters)
In Gladys, in Matter I do have a new device but I only have 2 functions: Switch and Index
The Index does seem to report the consumption, however the Switch has no impact on the heating
So my question is: did I miss something or will my current configuration not allow any better control?
Ah I just realized… the module is compatible with Gladys if it is paired directly with zigbee2mqtt in Gladys. The pilot wire exposure that NodOn uses is already supported.
Here you use the IKEA gateway, and you also specify that IKEA does not handle heating, so the gateway must not return this info in Matter.
But in the case where IKEA provides the info on Matter, the pilot wire function in Matter is not yet supported in Gladys.
I can’t tell you more if this gateway provides the info.
Après ta passerelle IKEA tu peux encore la garder, j’ai cherché un peu sur internet et je pense qu’elle doit être capable de diffuser les infos du fil pilote.
Est-ce que tu pourrais nous partager le JSON dans les paramètres Matter
In the JSON, your module is exposed as onoffpluginunit, therefore only as an ON/OFF switch.
We can’t find the pilot wire information exposed by your IKEA gateway.
A question that just occurred to me: which version of the Matter protocol does that dear DIRIGERA support?
In any case @4get9 I can assure you that on plain Zigbee (via an SMLIGHT adapter), this pilot-wire module works wonderfully natively in Gladys: pilot-wire control and consumption monitoring.
If you absolutely want Matter for this module, you’d need to change the Zigbee gateway and then go through matterbridge and its matterbridge-zigbee2mqtt plugin… And by the way, are pilot wires currently included in the active Matter spec?
