Hello,
I bought a few new IKEA Matter devices, and I got an IKEA Dirigera gateway to integrate them into my home automation network which (almost) didn’t exist until now.
I decided to start directly with Gladys so as not to waste time starting on Home Assistant (HA) and then switching to Gladys afterwards.
I must admit I can’t accomplish much and nothing tells me what’s wrong or what I should do. I really feel it’s simple but only once you know the trick, and that as a beginner you’re groping around blindly.
Let me explain: nowhere does it tell me how I should proceed to get started.
Unless I’ve made a mistake.
Here’s what I did: on the IKEA side I installed their dedicated app and added the DIRIGERA, the sensors and switches, but on the Gladys side I find nothing except MATTER
So I started from there and tried the ADD DEVICE option which … doesn’t let me add anything.
In the Matter settings, I have my DIRIGERA (did I manage to add it? did it show up on its own? I couldn’t say)
however I don’t see any of my peripherals and I can’t add them
Unable to add this Matter device to Gladys, are you sure this device is on the same network as Gladys? Is Gladys running with network=host?
No device discovered using identifier {« shortDiscriminator »:6}! Please check that the relevant device is online.
and now I’ve been stuck for hours without making progress, I can’t find any info in Gladys or online.
So I understand better the lack of conclusive results on Google
I had seen the post that mentioned network=host, but I looked into how Gladys was launched on my Pi (I used the dedicated Gladys image) and I couldn’t find it (crontab, /etc/init.d, /etc/rc.local, systemd, …)
Well, great news if it’s just something new — I trust it and I’m open to helping
