Great question, currently the only grouping of devices we have is the room 
What would you like to do?
for example, grouping all the shutters on a floor and making them controllable by Alexa, or certain light bulbs in different rooms to create an ambiance, or all the outlets connected to the backup battery, etc…
To create ambiances across multiple outlets or bulbs, you can create scenes
For the Alexa part, I wonder if it’s better to use groups on the Alexa side, because even if we created a group notion on the Gladys side, I’m not sure I can expose it to Alexa

In this case, indeed, creating a scene is often the best option!
You can eventually create a virtual device in the « Virtual Device MQTT » integration that will be the facade of your scene if needed.
