Gladys 4 Beta is available! 🚀

Hi hi,

@pierre-gilles, I think I have a small issue, and I’m not sure if I’m the only one. I added the latest Docker image from the documentation, everything is fine but if I go to settings/system I see:

Yes, there is a problem with the image pulled by Docker, it is not the latest one

https://github.com/GladysAssistant/Gladys/issues/635#issuecomment-687579964

I have not yet identified the cause (docker cli / dockerhub / manifest)

Actually, it’s a silly problem, I think in terms of semver « v4.0.0-beta-13 Â» is greater than « v4.0.0-beta.15 Â» ^^. Normally everything should be back in order, I added « v4.0.0-beta.15 Â» as the latest version in the update API.

I’m starting to wonder about the relevance of the « download Â» button when watchtower does everything automatically anyway.

I agree with you on that (useless)

Yes you are right, I thought it was related to the builds and the PR recently merged

A small note about the documentation again:
How do you access it from Gladys?
I haven’t found a link to Commencer avec Gladys | Gladys Assistant
Indeed, « Need help? Â» leads to https://community.gladysassistant.com/
Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone!

After several months without touching the ground, I find a few minutes to stop by here
Oops, I see that I was asked for things about the PR zwave and milight and I couldn’t answer. Better late than never

For Milight, I saw that Pierre Gilles fixed the test coverage issues I had and merged the PR. Thanks, that’s cool and I hope it will suit the milight users.

For zwave, I thought I saw that it’s also merged and that sescandell is participating in the development. Good news! I’m sure this will greatly advance zwave. :+1:

For my part, I won’t be able to help with the development of gladys due to lack of time, but I will continue to follow the project as best I can

No worries, everyone has their constraints

Uh no, it was the PR of the switches that I fixed and merged  Milight, I asked for changes
We would need to find someone to take over the PR.

Would anyone here be interested in continuing the development of the milight PR?

https://github.com/GladysAssistant/Gladys/pull/647

Thanks again for your help, and don’t hesitate to come and say hi from time to time

Hello everyone!

Just a quick message to let you know that I’m taking a break until October 12th. A good opportunity to take a break before the much-anticipated RC release.

This last sprint has been very intense and I’m really happy with the work that the whole community has done. As for the RC milestone, there are only 13 todos left (see GitHub · Where software is built).

The remaining work is mainly on:

And we’ll be good to go for the RC!

On the Z-Wave side, I’m looking for someone to take over this service since @link39 is no longer available.

For the documentation, you can all help, it’s on GitHub (GitHub - GladysAssistant/v4-website: Gladys Assistant website · GitHub) and editable by everyone

In any case, have a good end of September, and see you in October!

See you soon

You’re completely offline or are you going to merge anyway?

Have a good vacation BTW

Completely offline, I would be in the Greek islands with little network. I prefer to completely disconnect to be able to recharge.

This doesn’t prevent me from proposing PRs later, I’ll merge everything upon my return

Get some rest: I’m preparing the Zigbee2mqtt PR for your return.

Hey @AlexTrovato, a PR for Bluetooth? :innocent:

(I’ll set up my dev environment to help with that in the coming weeks if I can).

Yahaaaaa!!!

And have a great vacation Pierre-Gilles!

Happy holidays @Pierre-Gilles. :classical_building: :beach_umbrella:

Given my limited availability due to Bluetooth service, if anyone feels up to documenting Tasmota, I’m ready to delegate

https://github.com/GladysAssistant/Gladys/issues/872

I’m not sure I can do both before Pierre-Gilles returns.

I don’t have that material, sorry.
Moreover, I set Gladys aside because I can’t figure out why the connection is lost or Gladys stops every day.

For me, it was every night at 3 a.m.
SSL certificate renewal that I had set up automatically via a cron task.

Hello everyone! Glad to see there’s been activity in my absence.

Back from vacation, I’ll be working on Gladys again starting next Monday

Regarding the different PRs in progress, could everyone give me a quick recap?

@AlexTrovato on the Bluetooth side?

@Reno on the Zigbee2mqtt side?

Hello @pierre-gilles

The development on Zigbee2mqtt has progressed well, but I have completely overhauled it to be consistent with the MQTT service or even provide a base for any other service that might need an MQTT broker.
As a result, it’s taking a bit longer than expected

I hope to be able to provide a test image this week.
After that, I will write the automated tests.

Thanks @Reno for the update
