Gladys 4 Beta is available! 🚀

Hello everyone!

Big news: Gladys 4 Beta is out today! :rocket:

What’s new in the beta compared to the alpha?

A simple installation

I offer a ready-to-use Raspbian image that updates itself: no more command lines, it’s easy to set up!

Richer compatibilities

Cameras are better managed: many bugs have been fixed, and it is now possible to change the refresh rate of the images.

Z-Wave integration has been improved to be easier to set up.

New compatibilities

Xiaomi Home, MQTT, Philips Hue, there’s something new!

Gladys Plus

Gladys Plus (the Gladys Gateway) is now fully compatible with Gladys 4! :bottle_with_popping_cork:

  • Gladys Plus gives you complete remote access to Gladys with end-to-end encryption (yes, the full dashboard, even the cameras!).
  • It allows a daily encrypted backup of Gladys, so you can restore your instance to a point in the past in case of trouble.
  • Gladys Plus is still at 9.99€/month!

As at the launch of the Gateway, I’m relaunching the offer:

The first 100 to sign up on the website will receive Gladys Assistant stickers!

Those who are already subscribed to the Gateway, if you want more stickers, don’t hesitate, it’s valid for you too

Getting started with Gladys 4

To get started with Gladys 4, it’s on the Gladys website:

Thanks

Thank you to all those who contributed to this new version, on GitHub, or through their subscription to Gladys Plus :folded_hands:

You give me the energy to move the project forward, and prove that an open-source alternative that respects privacy is possible.

Thanks for this beta tonight I’m launching an install on my rpi 3
Well with my install at 433 I can’t test everything!
Fantastic work!!!

Thanks for embarking on such an adventure! It’s really great, the product is awesome even if it’s still a beta! I love what you’ve done! I’m moving next week and I’ll be able to put v4 into production at my place with my Xiaomi

Thanks!

For this beta, I’m currently providing good feedback.

I subscribed, they don’t refuse stickers :smirk:

Thanks @jeremy37!

Thanks @damalgos!

Great, thanks!

Thanks for your support :folded_hands: For the stickers, I’ll run a form in the following days to get your addresses and send them to you

It’s great to install it so easy it feels good !!

The cam works perfectly and the refreshes are perfect.

I have an issue with the weather but it’s me I will see that.

For the rest I can’t test it

It’s nice to read that! Thanks for your feedback!

Does this happen to you too?

Your browser tried to translate the page

OK, I understand. Thank you.

Same issue with the Hue module.

Are you in developer mode on the gateway? See

I will investigate

Fix incoming for Philips Hue, it was silly

I did a new installation on a raspberry 3b+ and the « integration Â» tab is empty
Do I need to do something special to have content?

You’re not the first to report this bug, it’s really strange. Do you have any details about the bug? Browser? An error in the JS console? (if you refresh, it should work but it’s still strange)

@NoDz: Fixed for Philips Hue. Your installation will update automatically.

@Hamtaro: Since you’re on a manual installation, you pull the new version, stop, rm the container, and you start a new one. (I advise you to make a small script if you don’t want to bother, or just use watchtower)

Thanks!

If I install Watchtower right away, will it manage the already present containers?

EDIT: I’m answering myself, Watchtower is excellent, it performed the update a few minutes after its launch <3

Hello and thank you for this v4 that I was waiting for, given everything we can expect from it

I proceeded with the installation of Gladys v4 via Docker, without any issues :hugs: On the other hand, no interface is accessible from my local network :unamused: Not being familiar with Docker at all, I don’t really know how to debug all this! Any tips?

Thanks in advance,
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Jean

@pierre-gilles
It’s fixed by selecting a language in my profile. Here is the error: TypeError: n.a[e.user.language] is undefinedintegration.js:7:10
This v4 is promising: I’m now waiting for the netatmo and sonos modules

Normal, @pierre-gilles will be working on it starting Monday
