Hello everyone,
I present to you a new external integration for Gladys Assistant: Faikout.
It connects Gladys to Daikin air conditioners equipped with a Faikout module (formerly Faikin). This small open-source ESP32 module, designed by RevK, replaces the original Wi-Fi module of the air conditioner.
Everything stays on your network: no Daikin cloud, no account, no Internet.
What it does
Each air conditioner becomes a Gladys device with:
- On/off, mode (auto, cold, heating, dehumidification, ventilation)
- Setpoint and fan speed (auto, silent, 1 to 5)
- *Horizontal and vertical swing
- Econo, Powerful, Comfort, Streamer, outdoor unit silent modes
- Measurements:
- room temperature and outdoor temperature
- air intake and refrigerant temperatures
- humidity
- power consumed (W)
- energy meter (kWh)
The integration only creates what your air conditioner actually reports: a function not present in your model does not appear.
Energy tracking
If the air conditioner reports its energy meter, it appears in the Energy page of Gladys:
- consumption per half-hour, calculated by Gladys;
- cost, according to your electricity contract;
- association with your main meter.
In multi-split (several indoor units on a single outdoor unit), the meter is that of the outdoor unit: check that it is not counted twice.
Scenes
Triggers
- An air conditioner disconnects or comes back (Faikout unreachable, or air conditioner no longer responding to the module)
- An air conditioner is modified outside of Gladys: remote control, Faikout web page, timer
- An air conditioner starts or finishes defrosting
Actions
- Set an air conditioner: on/off, mode, setpoint, and fan speed all at once
- Set Faikout auto: the module keeps the room between target â margin and target + margin
- Read an air conditioner: a fresh reading, usable in the rest of the scene
Example: « If the living room air conditioner is turned on with the remote after 11 p.m., switch it to silent ventilation. »
Dashboard widgets
- Faikout Air Conditioner: live tiles (room, setpoint, outdoor, power), temperature curve over 24 hours, status, mode, fan speed, On/Off and Refresh buttons.
- Faikout Overview: all your air conditioners on a single map.
Each device also has a badge:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Local | Everything responds |
| Local + orange dot | The Faikout responds, but not the air conditioner (S21 / X50 cable?) |
| Unreachable | The Faikout does not respond |
Installation
Prerequisites
- Gladys 5.1 or newer
- A Faikout module installed and connected to your Wi-Fi (installation manual)
- A fixed IP address for each module (DHCP reservation on your box)
Configuration
-
Install the Faikout integration from the Gladys integrations catalog.
-
In Configuration, list your units, separated by commas:
Living Room=192.168.1.50, Bedroom=192.168.1.51 -
If you have set a web password on the Faikout, enter it (the same for all units).
-
Click Test connection: each unit indicates its model, protocol, mode, and temperature.
-
Open the Discovery tab and create the proposed devices.
Prefer the IP address to names in .local: they are often poorly resolved from the container.
Privacy
- The integration only talks to the addresses you give it, in local HTTP and WebSocket.
- It only keeps, in its
/datavolume, the MAC address, name, model, and list of functions of each unit.
