Most popular Home Assistant integrations → candidates for Gladys external integrations

Afternoon wave, still French open data. Three new integrations and one update, recap here at the exit:

  • Tide gauges (SHOM): the water height measured in real time at the nearest tide gauge (SHOM REFMAR network, mainland and overseas coasts) and the surge (the difference with the predicted tide, which rises during storms), with a trigger when the surge exceeds a threshold. Complementary to Marées France by Will_71, which provides predictions
  • Construction near you: construction sites that disrupt traffic around the house or on selected streets (Paris, Lyon, Toulouse to start, other cities if I find them): object, dates, impact, with triggers when a construction site starts or ends
  • Elevators and escalators at stations (SNCF): the operating status of elevators and escalators at selected stations, based on SNCF open data (updated continuously), with a trigger when a piece of equipment fails or restarts. Useful for people with reduced mobility, strollers, and suitcases
  • Road traffic 1.1: in addition to metropolitan areas, real-time traffic conditions on non-concessioned national roads (ring roads, fast lanes of DIR, according to open Bison Futé)

If someone was already on it, let me know

The afternoon wave is out: three new open data integrations, no account or key required, and an update:

All tested on real data from the day, not yet on a real Gladys installation. Gladys 5.3 minimum. Your feedback is welcome

To replace native integrations, Airplay and Google Cast are live. Node-RED is coming soon!

Evening update, still on local open data. One new integration and three updates, recap here at the end:

  • What to do in Paris: events and activities from the official Paris City agenda (concerts, exhibitions, workshops, free events…), near you or by theme, with a trigger when a new event matches your criteria, a summary line and a widget. The Parisian counterpart to Toulouse’s agenda
  • Public service hours 1.1: real-time waiting times in city halls that publish them (starting with Strasbourg: administrative center and district town halls), with a trigger when the wait time drops below a threshold
  • Pools in real time 1.1: real-time attendance of ice rinks that publish it (starting with the Iceberg in Strasbourg)
  • Elevators and escalators 1.1: in addition to SNCF train stations, the street elevators of the City of Paris (remote monitored, in real time)

If anyone was already on it, let me know

hey Claude, isn’t there a problem with the name of the integration?

I’ll be able to test then

« Pools in real time » and « real-time attendance of ice rinks » is quite funny.

It’s well known that in Alsace, the water freezes straight away

I’m taking fifteen new integrations for a batch 19, aimed at Canada and the United States. I checked today in the tracking of @Will_71, in this thread (up to #433), in the store, in Gladys’ core, and on GitHub: none are announced or reserved by anyone else. If I’m wrong, let me know and I’ll remove them. All are based on official open data, a library under MIT, Apache, or BSD license, or the manufacturer’s documentation, without account or application imitation.

Canada, Open Data (no key)

  • Border Wait Times: Wait times at Canada ↔ United States border crossings (both ways, CBSA and CBP).
  • Canadian Tides: Tides and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service (Fisheries and Oceans).
  • Canadian Wildfires: Wildfires near you and fire danger (Natural Resources Canada).
  • Canadian Recalls: Recalls and safety alerts from Health Canada (food, products, vehicles).
  • DriveBC: Road events in British Columbia (Open511).

United States, Open Data (no key)

  • CAISO: The California electrical grid (prices, demand, renewable share, alerts).
  • USGS: River levels and flows in the United States.
  • NDBC: NOAA buoys and coastal stations (waves, wind, water temperature).
  • US Recalls: Vehicle recalls (NHTSA), product recalls (CPSC), and food recalls (FDA).
  • MBTA: Next arrivals for Boston public transportation.

Devices, Local

  • OmniLogic: Hayward OmniLogic pools.
  • Guardian: Guardian water shutoff valve (Elexa) and its leak detectors; closing the valve does not depend on any option.
  • IntelliFire: IntelliFire gas fireplaces; ignition is disabled by default.
  • GreenEye: Brultech GreenEye energy monitors (Canadian manufacturer).
  • Modern Forms: Modern Forms ceiling fans.

The first ten are tested on real services; for devices, I don’t have the hardware: they will be tested on simulated devices, and feedback from those who have them will be valuable. On the latest SDK, in French and English. I publish them in groups of five, with a summary here each time.

The evening wave is out: a new integration and three updates, in open data, no account or key required:

All tested on real data from the day (the waiting time for town halls, recorded in the evening, town halls closed, and on open variants of this record), not yet on a real Gladys installation. Your feedback is welcome
