YouTube Live: 2022 recap and plans for 2023 this Tuesday night at 9 PM!

But it’s still crazy that by adding a dedicated power supply to the SSD my problem persists…
Also, it ran without issues for a few weeks?

As for me, I’m on piaille.fr, which is French, after listening to the podcast of the show about Mastodon on libreavous.org.

@bjm I switched over to Fosstodon. The trigger was the account switch of « moOde audio player » @moodeaudio@fosstodon.org … so yes not French. No big deal

@cce66 : I see there are two brands of sticks: sonoff and conbee II (https://www.domadoo.fr/fr/accueil/4974-phoscon-passerelle-universelle-zigbee-usb-conbee-ii-4260350821328.html)
Are there pros or cons for each or is it all the same?
Phil

If I remember correctly I ran the command:

sudo dmesg

That’s how I saw that I had problems with the Pi’s USB ports.

Same for me, a powered USB hub to eliminate the power problem — so I gave up on the Pi!
And the container was rebooting on average every 30s, sometimes less… so I bought a third Beelink BT3Pro2 and I’m moving Gladys back onto it!

The Sonoff has better signal amplification and, due to its design, is less susceptible to interference than the ConBee II; otherwise they both do the same job.

There are several recommended dongles

Hello, I measured the power consumption of the USB dongle on the Raspberry Pi USB port and on the lab power supply. I am equipped with everything needed for precise measurements; consumption is the same. For my Sonoff 3 dongle, I don’t think the problem comes from power draw, but possibly from USB handling. Tomorrow, if I have time, I’ll install an OctoPi to manage my 3D printer and I’ll see how that goes — my Pi used to serve that purpose before.

Your Zigbee USB key is correctly recognized on your USB port, we can see it at the end.
@Phil was quicker.

and connected devices according to the log:
usb usb1: Product: DWC OTG Controller
hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found
usb 1-1.1: new high-speed USB device number 3 using dwc_otg
usb 1-1.2: Product: Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus

To display the list of USB devices, the command: lsusb (you can add -v for verbose; it’s really verbose in this case!)

The message that caught my eye: « dwc_otg_hcd_urb_dequeue:639: Timed out waiting for FSM NP t ransfer »

Phil

According to research:
You need to switch back to a 32-bit installation and you won’t have any more problems! (100% success for everyone we’ve helped do this) because you have a Raspberry Pi 3B+, right?

Hello @Tlse-vins, isn’t the image deployed by @pierre-gilles already in 32?

to check what’s running use the command uname -m

  • if aarch64 it’s 64-bit
  • if armv7l it’s 32-bit

Phil

There are both versions.
It should be tested with the 32-bit version.

You should clarify then that it’s also for the Pi 3B+

For older Raspberry Pis (Raspberry Pi 1, 2 and Zero) on 32-bit architecture:

I’ll test it to do my part since I have several platforms

As for me, it returns aarch64

Thanks @VonOx
A « device » like this one seems quite nice to me: Z-Bee-Duo | USB/WiFi/LAN/Hat modular CC2652P zigbee 3.0 adapter
in terms of possible connections, I think it’s pretty nice

I just made a crazy discovery: Gladys’ new image on the SSD — I try to boot
