Ability to modify a scene variable

It’s addictive: since the big v4.86 and even more with v5, I have a list of things to build, modify, etc. in my home automation. And the more I do, the more I want to go even further. Before, I would have thought « leave it, don’t mention it, @pierre-gilles won’t have time to deal with it… », whereas now, with AI assistance, it becomes much more feasible. I feel like I’m coming across as the guy who never has enough, just because he got a new toy… :face_savoring_food:

The new Set a Variable scene action is already very practical. But I realize, as I use it, that I would then need to be able to modify a variable depending on what I do during the scene.

For example: I define a variable ‹ announcement volume › with a default value, the scene continues to analyze in If…then…else… the current time, the presence or absence of people, etc. and this information can lead me to decrease or increase this Volume variable, and at the end of the scene I use the Speak action on a speaker to broadcast my announcement with an appropriate volume.

Is it possible to create a ‹ Modify a Scene Variable › action?

Thanks in advance

no, no, you’re not addicted at all :joy:

Otherwise, with Control a device you don’t find this variable? (not tested on my end)

I tested it, it’s not there. It could indeed be a technical solution, rather than a new kind of action.
