As is customary, I’ll introduce myself: Thomas, a brand new member of the 40-something club
I’ve been watching how Gladys evolves for about a year or two, but I haven’t quite taken the plunge yet. However, I just installed it to test it out, as it’s always interesting to keep an eye on what’s happening in the home automation field.
I’ve been interested in home automation for about 4-5 years now: I started with Domoticz, before switching to Home Assistant nearly two years ago. Recently, I’ve revised all the management of my sensor feedback, favoring the use of MQTT and thus being able to use home automation systems in parallel for testing.
I’m sure I’ll have questions as I discover Gladys. I’ll start by reading this forum
Great idea for MQTT, it’s true that it allows you to keep your current home automation in place while testing real alternative solutions like Gladys.
Don’t hesitate to ask us your questions and especially to give us your feedback on your discovery of Gladys. It’s a very important moment to improve the solution.
Welcome, for MQTT I think you will do like me, you will go through Node-RED to bridge with HA for what is not yet possible with Gladys! I like your YouTube channel, I’m subscribed to it Sky you’ve been discovered!!!
Thanks for the welcome. When I took this pseudonym, I thought you would recognize me The channel doesn’t talk much about Gladys, that’s for sure, but that could change, you never know! I think you should always look at what’s being done in the field because it evolves so fast.
I won’t miss the opportunity to come back to you, that’s for sure! I’m still discovering for the moment and I’m noting my questions to ask you in the coming days if I don’t find the answer in the various topics already opened
