Hello everyone,
I’m Vincent, not too hard to find so far.
I’m a young dad (35 years old) of a little boy who is now 7 months old, damn time flies.
Oh yes, I’m from Toulouse.
With my brother who is an electrotechnician, we are trying to find solutions for home automation for our place but we also do tests at our mom’s.
All this to say that he is looking for an all-in-one solution to offer to his clients with of course a lower investment.
We have talked a lot about the advantages of the Eedomus solution but the cost remains high if we have to add the peripherals on top of that.
I was told about Gladys a few months ago and I dug a bit more to see what it was all about.
I found the solution very interesting given that it is an open source solution. I prefer to invest in an open source solution rather than a multinational’s solution. And on top of that, it’s French. Finally, a Frenchman abroad for the moment.
It’s been 2 months now that I’ve been on the forum and I’ve read quite a few posts about the different peripherals I want to set up at home.
Currently, I have:
- a Raspberry Pi 3B+
- an Arduino
- 433Mhz transmitter, receiver
- USB key 300 DB EnOcean protocol
- USB key Steval-Ids001Vx Z-Wave protocol
- USB key XStick ZB from Digi ZigBee protocol
- NFC chips
Current peripherals:
- a TV screen raiser controlled by a 433Mhz transmitter.
- Sonoff of course (on this subject you can go and see my tutorial to flash them).
Soon:
- thermostat and 3 Netatmo thermostatic heads.
- door or window opening sensor from the brand NodOn, EnOcean protocol.
- motion detector from the brand NodOn.
And I just ordered a Respeaker 6 mics V2 from seeed and also my new Xiaomi Roborock s50 v2 which will make me create posts on the forum and maybe a tutorial later.
Goals:
- installation of Snip.
- setting up scenarios after opening doors or windows.
- controlling heating for next winter.
- motion detection in the apartment.
- surveillance via IP camera.
- and much more.
I eagerly await, like many of us, the V4.
