[Introduction] Zedyxer

Hello everyone,

I’m Stéphane, 45 years old and passionate about IT like everyone here no doubt ^^
I’ve been into home automation for about ten years (Domoticz, then Jeedom and I’m just switching to Gladys).

Gladys is installed via Docker on an Unraid server. It has a Z-Wave dongle and an RFXCOM.

  • control of 8 lamps via Tasmota over MQTT
  • presence management for 4 users
  • opening sensors (intrusion)
  • control of shutters (5 shutters in the living area, 3 bedroom shutters and 2 veranda shutters
  • 2 garage doors
  • heating

For now my transition is going pretty well, I still need to integrate my RFXCOM via Node-RED but here I’m stuck! You’ll probably find me in a section of the forum asking for help about this

In any case, I’m very satisfied with Gladys, the clean dashboards that are simple to set up, the ease of use — that’s what I was looking for. I might be missing a few integrations (RFXCOM for example and Z-Wave), but I hope Node-RED will allow me to interface what I’m missing.

See you soon

Welcome to Gladys @zedyxer

For Node-RED, I’m not sure if you saw my YouTube tutorial?

Then, on the Node-RED side, you can use an RFXCOM module like this one:

You will probably be able to control your RFXCOM via this module in Node-RED, then make a connection to Gladys using MQTT.

Feel free to create a dedicated thread if you want us to discuss it. I don’t have an RFXCom but I can help you debug if you get stuck

Welcome.

Z-Wave is under development — I’m waiting for it too, but you can install zwave-js-ui via Docker and use Node-RED and MQTT to control your devices.

Thanks for the info

I saw the Node-RED tutorial; my issue concerns the sending/receiving of signals on the RFXCOM side

I don’t know what to put in:

  • protocol (RFY? because it’s Somfy)
  • device address AND unit address (I don’t know how to retrieve this info from the RFXCOM)

I’m

Keep us posted! If you find one, don’t hesitate to write a tutorial in the « Tutorials » category of the forum, it could help others

I won’t miss it

Well, you only had to mention it! I found the solution last night and everything is working early this morning, I’m going to work on a little tutorial
