Hehe, that’s why I wasn’t in a hurry with this new clean PR.
I was going to write « However, I don’t understand why I can’t find the same error on my machine. Not knowing how to reproduce it, how can I investigate? » But after three consecutive tests, I have the error. I’ll test by removing tests one by one to see… Nevertheless, after some research, including on StackOverflow, they say it can be normal. Anyway, I’ll do the tests and get back to you.
In Gladys’ case, Gladys is a small, lightweight program designed to run on a Raspberry Pi, so RAM usage is very important. We don’t do just anything; it has to run on a Pi.
I confirm that it is not normal in Gladys’ case ^^
Hello everyone,
I’m new here and I hope I’m not disturbing you. I’m really eager to test this module for Gladys, so if you could explain to me how to install it on my Raspberry Pi, I’d be happy to do so. I have two outdoor cameras, one with an alarm, and a thermostat on my pellet stove, so I’ll be able to test quite a few things.
I’m not very tech-savvy, so I can only give you feedback on how it works for the average person, but I’d be delighted to do so!
@damalgos and I are currently in charge of this development. Unfortunately, we had to restart the entire programming from scratch in February, and on my side, I’m struggling with some tests (programming side). Even more unfortunately, I’ve let go of programming since April because I have no time right now, and @damalgos has also been very busy since February as well.
I hope to be able to resume this autumn and will not hesitate to ask for your help if needed.
However, a somewhat convoluted version is running at my place without any problems on another Raspberry Pi dedicated to this (not updated, of course). It allows me to control the valves of my boiler heating (without adjustment capability - it just manages the interaction between the different valve hubs) as well as to see all the information (battery status, valve openings, setpoint temperature and room and valve temperature, camera images, weather station and home coach information).
I’m going on vacation for 15 days. If you really need it while waiting for the official version, I can guide you through the installation if you have the possibility to install an additional Gladys.
1st point: I’ve resumed some programming (Netatmo doorbell installation) and I’ve mixed my version that has been running at home for a year and a half, the modifications that @damalgos made recently, and updated to v4.8.3. It’s running again with a few bugs still to fix.
2nd point: For those who have Netatmo Presence (Outdoor) or Welcome (Indoor) cameras and would like to access them from Gladys without the ongoing integration (which unfortunately is taking a long time to appear due to the numerous complex changes requested), I have just found a way to access the live stream via the IP address (which bothers me a bit actually as there is no login/password to enter!!) and which allows you to always have the stream even in case of an internet outage (I’m thinking of you @Tlse-vins but maybe you already found a way to do it ^^) :
Third point: I dare to ask because if you don’t ask, nothing can happen… ^^ I’m looking to hire a developer, familiar with best practices to get the PR out while limiting the modified code (too many modified lines pointed out by @pierre-gilles in the past - and it’s true ^^), for a day (in exchange for a grande coffee or a grande beer) to clean up the program and start fresh (probably split into several PRs).
I tried to do it last summer and for the past two weeks, but I admit I’m out of my depth for a « clean back » @pierre-gilles / @VonOx (I’m thinking of you who now has a Netatmo thermostat) / or others if interested ^^ (This also allows for a training format on something concrete)
To get back to the dev topic, from a home automation / Netatmo perspective, my need is quite « minimal », the Netatmo algorithms do the job perfectly, so no heating management on Gladys side.
So for the energy part, define a schedule or away mode via scene.
The extra would be to have the temperatures of the heads and the heating status (even if I physically have the information)
I’ll try to test your PR and contribute if within my skills as soon as I have some time (there are other topics on the fire )
Don’t hesitate to add me as a contributor to your fork.
All clean that @Terdious! I would have loved to help, but I have my own to-do list on Gladys that never ends, and I ultimately have very few available days with my part-time schedule Gladys
Right now, my focus is really on the profitability of the Gladys Plus project.
I hope you find someone to help you, don’t necessarily look for an expert, sometimes just finding someone to pair-program with is enough to stay motivated and make progress
Maybe we should talk about Gladys on React/Preact/Node.js forums to attract new contributors?
