A little one among the big ones 😂

Ah, so this device is « closed Â», it’s compatible with 3 proprietary protocols: HomeKit, Alexa and Google Home.

If you can exchange it to get the Matter version, you’ll have a device with an open, local, and open-source protocol

Yes, you’re right about the content side! HA (Home Assistant) is omnipresent on social networks, and it’s very hard to compete, even though we do our best to improve

Our documentation is very comprehensive, by the way — if you haven’t already gone through it it’s the best place to learn about Gladys:

If you have concrete points, I’m open to feedback so we can improve that :slightly_smiling_face:

My remark in the YouTube video is product-related: everything is designed to be simple in Gladys. It’s just clicking in a clean interface; there’s never any editing of YAML files nor any command line to type.

Ah darn, no — I’ve already bought them a while ago

Yes, I understand.

Yes, I’ve already read it

No problem, and already one point you raise: no YAML files etc., that already seems simpler for a NOOB. It’s a bit like in Alexa where you add products, etc

One point I haven’t found in the machine configurations:

  • Does a mini PC need to be on all the time, and does a keyboard / mouse / screen need to be permanently connected?
  • Can a Raspberry Pi be installed in an electrical panel and connected remotely?

I hope I’m making myself understood

Edit: sorry I still haven’t figured out how to make the text appear in the comment :joy:

No, just the mini-PC plugged in

At my place I have a Beelink S12 Pro in the same piece of furniture as my router, connected by Ethernet and that’s it.

I’m about to return my Raspberry Pi, dongle, etc., to order a kit from you :joy:

Don’t return the Zigbee dongle, you’ll need it with the mini-PC

But I can only recommend mini-PCs; they’re really a different world compared to the Pi in terms of performance and stability.

Okay.

I’ll think about it this afternoon then, if I order that from you today, how long is the delivery time? Do we have lifetime access to the video training?

This one is perfect!

If you order today, I’ll place the order for the mini-PC and I’ll receive it at my home tomorrow or Tuesday (depending on what time you place the order), then I’ll install it the day I receive it, and I’ll ship it out directly with Mondial Relay.

Then, it depends where you live — it can be quick or it can take longer depending on the distance to travel

Yes, it’s for life
