Need your help: changing device names on the dashboard

Hello everyone,
a while ago, a change was made regarding the names of devices on the dashboard.
Recently, I noticed that the sensor section was not modified, but I can’t tell whether this was an oversight or intentional.

I’m therefore calling on you to perform some actions and share your opinion with us.

The goal is to compare your current dashboard (available via GladysPlus) with the one on which we made changes to the display of device names (available via the beta version on Cloudflare - using your GladysPlus credentials).

Please, for each of the links,

perform the following actions:

  • a screenshot of the dashboard (before and after state)
  • give your opinion on which one seems « better »
  • report if any « different » behavior is detected

As a reminder, the changes ONLY affect the dashboard.

Thank you in advance for your contribution, and I remain at your disposal for any questions.

That seems to resolve quite a few issues but causes one for the ZigBee smart plug…

Indeed, I have the same problem with my smart plug that has a power consumption sensor.
They all have the same logo, and the same name now…

However, for the other cases, I get the impression you have a clearer picture!

Thanks for sharing.

I suppose this is following the workaround that had been put in place for the multi-feature devices? In any case, it’s indeed generally much clearer!
PS: I see this is also problematic for the Tasmota plug with a meter (« Kuga plug »), so same problem!

For my part, my door openings are clearer with the fix :

Avant

Apres

Nothing else to report otherwise

I’ll test this as soon as I get home :+1:

Here are the screenshots (in order Gladys Plus, then the dev page)

So it’s much clearer on my end (even though I had sometimes changed the feature names to my own liking), great job!!!

The conclusion looks pretty positive overall

The only remaining issue is with outlets that report power consumption, though the unit still gives a rough idea!

@AlexTrovato what do you think? Do you have an idea for @GBoulvin’s « Kuga » outlets, or should we merge this already since it greatly improves the display?

I think we can go ahead, we can merge.
For the plugs, I think that as it stands it’s understandable via the unit, indeed.
Developing to « rectify » that will be too costly, I think. It would be more worthwhile to look into the « grouped display of features for the same device », but that’s another challenge.
