Hello everyone,
I’m Patrice, in my mid-fifties
, living near Nantes.
I’m embarking on the connected home adventure with Gladys*. ![]()
I made my decision after a few email exchanges with Pierre-Gilles, who took the time to answer my questions. But especially after watching several Home Assistant and Gladys Assistant videos. The “French” side and presumably the easier use attracted me![]()
I’m a beginner in home automation, except perhaps for creating scenarios in Tahoma Box, so I count on your advice and experience.
The devices I already have and want to integrate with Gladys:
-
Siemens dishwasher with an app I use today Home Connect
-
Dreame robot vacuum cleaner that also has an app
-
Various Netatmo products: complete weather station (4 indoor sensors, 1 outdoor, rain gauge, and anemometer); outdoor camera; air/water heat pump thermostat
-
All my shutters and Somfy bioclimatic pergola (I have a Tahoma v2 box)
-
3 apps for my swim spa: spa operation (Gecko app); heating via its heat pump (SmartLife app); water treatment (SWM app)
-
SMA Energy inverter app (I have solar panels)
-
Energy management, I use Ecojoko today with its small practical screen that informs the family in case of overproduction and peak/off-peak hours.
###
What I would like to add later
-
A light alarm system to complement a monitored alarm.
-
Additional indoor and outdoor surveillance cameras
-
Flood sensors: I have just suffered for the second consecutive year from major leaks in two different places in the house
-
A gauge system to assess the water level of a well
-
Outdoor lighting management (garden)
-
Automatic watering (my Gardena device is at the end of its life)
You understand, there’s work to be done! ![]()
Ideally, a tablet with the dashboard always visible.
It shouldn’t be a constraint for the rest of the family.
I am therefore very interested in your advice, especially regarding the equipment to prioritize, compatibility with Gladys, and, above all, the best way to start my installation.
Is there somewhere a list of reliable sensors to buy? Or do you buy?
Thanks in advance to all of you for your help and advice!
See you soon on the forum ![]()
