Hello everyone,
Let me introduce myself: Alex, 50 years old, from Luxembourg.
I would like to embark on the adventure of the connected home with Gladys. I have already exchanged emails with Pierre-Gilles, who took the time to answer my questions and give me very good advice. He notably recommended that I come to the forum to present my project and exchange with the community.
I am a complete beginner in the field of home automation, so I count on your advice and experience. ![]()
The devices I already have
I would like, if possible, to integrate into Gladys:
- AEG BS9900T steam oven
- AEG CM9600T combination microwave
- AEG FSK83828P dishwasher
- Klover SP70E pellet stove
- Ring Doorbell doorbell
- iRobot Roomba 980
- iRobot Roomba Combo
- Toyotomi air conditioners
- Daikin air conditioner: it currently does not have Wi-Fi, so we would need to see if there is a module to connect it to the network.
My current installations
I also have electric shutters controlled with Elero UniTec-868 technology. I would like to know if it is possible to integrate them into Gladys and, if so, with which solution.
What I would like to add later
My project should gradually expand with, among other things:
- A weather station, probably of the Ecowitt type
- A complete alarm system with outdoor siren, remote controls, and keypad
- Outdoor surveillance cameras
- My Hörmann garage door, with possibly the possibility of automated opening/closing and status feedback
- A connected lock for the front door, even if I want to prioritize security and reliability before venturing into this type of equipment.
I think that’s already a good basis to start with! ![]()
My goal is to build my installation little by little, prioritizing reliable, secure solutions compatible with Gladys as much as possible, rather than buying equipment at random.
Since I am a complete beginner in home automation, I would be very interested in your advice regarding the equipment to prioritize, compatibility with Gladys, and, above all, the best way to start my installation.
Thanks in advance to everyone for your help and advice!
See you on the forum soon ![]()
