I just discovered that it was possible to click on the « all categories » link. I have therefore just discovered the introductions category.
So I’m going to introduce myself.
My name is Laurent.
I’m starting a home automation project for my home for fun.
I chose Gladys because it’s Francophone.
In real life, I work as an IT security consultant and develop business management solutions.
I retrieved an old HP MicroServer Gen 7 server that was lying around at my place to install Proxmox with FreedomBox in a VM and Gladys on another VM hidden behind the FreedomBox (on an internal network).
I installed Gladys using the docker-compose provided on the site so as not to add more problems to the ones that would inevitably arise.
My goal is to integrate home automation without changing anything in the setup. I therefore want to keep the switches functional.
After reading your very informative posts, I’m therefore moving toward full Zigbee for all switching.
I’ll try to make tutorials of my successful setups.
That’s it. I think I’ve covered everything.

For my part, I installed Gladys in Docker, in a Proxmox LXC (container). A bit of container inception, but it works well nonetheless!
