Widget bug on devices

Good evening,

I just noticed a small bug on the devices widget.
Indeed, when no device is selected, all devices appear in the list:

Wouldn’t it be better to display a message indicating that no device has been selected in the list, like the graph widget already does?

Thanks

Hi

This behavior has been around for a long time; at first it was a bug but I think some people use it that way, so I’m wondering if we’re going to keep it like that

No worries
Thanks for the info

Would it be worth adding a short informational text indicating that if left empty, all devices will be displayed (and in which order)?

@prohand you weren’t the only one wondering

I think that’s a good idea

Thinking about it, I’m not sure we should make this behavior official :joy:

It’s still pretty wild to display so many devices

Totally agree with you

For my part, I have a private dashboard that shows all the devices, which lets me quickly check what’s what and who has what.
In short, I like knowing what’s going on in my system when

What do you think?

No option for @pierre-gilles, he has to own his choice :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For info, on my side this behavior after removing features has already completely crashed my Gladys several times. The boxes ended up with no feature selected and broke everything.
For me this is clearly not a desired behavior, and it isn’t even logical. I share @StephaneB’s view, it should be identical to the charts and gauges to indicate that nothing has been selected in this box.

You can of course choose all the features if you want. But having a messy list of 500 or 1000 features from a tenant, I don’t really see the point for the average users!

I pretty much agree with @Terdious and @StephaneB

I’ll add that!
