Discourse: can you mark a topic as read without opening it?

I’m trying not to miss anything on the forum by opening all topics so they are marked as read and the title turns gray on the forum homepage.

However, with external integrations, there are many topics that don’t concern me, and it’s tedious to open them, scroll to the last message, and close the topic so that Discourse considers it as read.

Is there a more efficient way? One click from the homepage listing the topics would be great!

I’ve been looking for this for 2 days this week… Without finding it.

So I asked the AI to do it for me

Same, I only read topics with replies now, I leave the others aside, can’t keep up anymore

It’s surprising, because you can select messages and a dropdown list offers ‹ actions for the selection ›, including a ‹ mark as unread ›. So it would make sense to also find a ‹ mark as read › there…
@pierre-gilles do you know how to do this? Is this a forum setting that can be adjusted on your end to make it possible?
