Far from being a calendar expert, I didn’t fully understand the presentation of the multi-user calendar feature last Tuesday.
At the end of the live session, @pierre-gilles mentioned that only one calendar could be used. But can we retrieve information from multiple other calendars into a single one?
I know that you can share (probably under specific conditions such as the same domain name) your schedule with other people.
The idea would be to eventually create a specific Gladys calendar with recurring events (like school days in the example), and retrieve events from other personal calendars without cluttering them with non-essential information.
In reality, in your calendar service (for example, Google Calendar), you can create and import multiple calendars. These can then be used in Gladys.
What we cannot do is use multiple calendar services or multiple calendar accounts.
Is that clearer?
Edit: Google Calendar procedure:
So, on any CalDAV client, you can create multiple calendars on the same agenda. Gladys will then see all the calendars of the agenda synchronized with it.
Does this also work to retrieve events from shared agendas with the agenda that is synchronized with Gladys?
I cannot certify that all CalDAV hosts allow you to create multiple ones, but that’s the idea, yes. Gladys will synchronize them…
Not sure I understood correctly… All calendars that are included in your CalDAV account are usable. So if you have a shared agenda in it, it works. Personally, I have a ‹ family › agenda shared among members and it is well visible in Gladys.
