So I tried it on my tablet dedicated to Gladys. And there the display is no better. The resolution is 768x1024.
No worries, do what’s best
Hi @_Will_71! I worked on this this morning to improve the display on « intermediate »-sized devices (between mobile and desktop, basically), and I think I’ve come up with something rather satisfactory:
What do you think?
The PR:
@pierre-gilles can you make a Gladys Plus build to test?
That’s not bad as it is.
If we could test it as @VonOx suggests, that would be good.
Great!
I admit I prefer it that way, having the names wrap onto two lines to show slightly long names, especially on small screens. It’s much more convenient.
I didn’t notice the first time I looked, but initially you can’t see the decimal value. You only see 18, and when you shrink the page the field changes format and there you can clearly see 18.5.
As we’re starting to use Gladys Plus a lot for frontend tests, I’m setting up automatic Cloudflare Pages PR builds ![]()
That way no need to ask me anymore, it’ll be standard on all PRs, and there will be a comment like this on each PR:
Also, I’ve wanted for a long time to move Gladys Plus from Netlify to Cloudflare Pages. Netlify is often unstable, has far fewer PoPs (points of presence) than Cloudflare, and is generally slower.
I’ll tell you as soon as it’s live and I’ll post the link here.
Good catch! I’ll take a look.
That’s cool
I tried something else: setting a max-width on the device title:
It’s deployed on Cloudflare Pages, to be tested here: https://fix-responsive-thermostat-co.gladys-plus.pages.dev/
I will test at noon when I am at home.
However, on my PC, in the box with all the other elements, we can’t see the decimals (I can try to shorten the names of the other elements) otherwise in a box containing only the thermostat the display is OK.
Weird, I can’t reproduce it, normally I set a fixed size for the « name » column.
What’s the resolution of your PC?
I have several identical boxes with all the features of each room, and for each one the display is different

and in the last one you can’t see anything at all

Can you re-test with this URL: https://6fa7a195.gladys-plus.pages.dev ?
I have the impression that you don’t have the latest version, because I get the correct display when I test with your parameters :
Look at the name « Mode Auto/Manuel », on my side it’s on 2 lines, and on yours it’s on one line.
Same result.
For displaying names it’s the same: the display differs between each box. Between the two of us we have the case with Auto/Manual Mode, but I also have Heating power which is sometimes on one line and other times on two lines
It’s a feature that seemed simple at first but is actually causing us a lot of trouble!
