Gladys Assistant 4.35: 1st alpha for Z-Wave JS UI 🚀

Hello everyone,

It’s Monday, and Monday means a new Gladys release!!

Today I’m releasing as planned Gladys Assistant 4.35, which includes an initial alpha of Z-Wave JS UI.

This first alpha is the result of the live coding « A Z-Wave integration in one day? », and for now it supports only a single device, the Fibaro door/window open/close sensor.

I’m doing a « quiet » release on the forum and not a big splash on the website/social networks, because with only one type of supported device, it might create frustration if I publicize it outside the community  I’ll communicate more once we’ve expanded the compatibility list.

As I said in my kickoff live, 2024 is the year of pragmatism. I think it’s better to move forward in small steps on these kinds of « complex » topics, but to move quickly to get frequent user feedback

Now, I’m counting on you to help me add other Z-Wave devices via PRs. @Sescandell has even already started and it’s been super positive!!

For users who already have Z-Wave via Node-RED, you can already connect your Z-Wave JS UI instance to Gladys; even if no devices are supported, it should not normally interfere with your Node-RED operation.

Thanks to those who followed the live and supported this development!
