Gladys Assistant 4.45: DuckDB, a revolution in Gladys! ⚡

Yes, I restarted the Raspberry Pi.
@Terdious Ah, it’s good to know that the display isn’t real. I’ll re-run the purge and wait.

Thanks for the advice! :white_heart:

hello @pierre-gilles,
I just finished a complete reinstall of Ubuntu on my server (3GB of RAM, 500GB HDD) — old HP machine!
I’m preparing to reinstall Gladys via Docker, as well as Node-RED (standalone).
Has the installation doc been updated with the arrival of DuckDB as the database?
Once reinstalled how do I recover my GladysPlus backup?
Do I need to redo the integrations discovery first or is that included in the backup?

Thanks @Terdious for the info, so I restarted the purge because the disk space wasn’t freed proportionally. I’m waiting for the result

I should clarify that the number of states shown on this view corresponds to the « raw » number of states; the purpose of displaying this number is to compare it with the number of states in DuckDB.

However, there are aggregated states that also need to be purged, and this count is not displayed in the interface, so indeed the purge may not be finished if this number is 0.

On that note, switching to an SSD can really be a lifesaver for this kind of setup ^^ Especially since it costs €15 on Amazon :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s the same documentation, nothing has changed

During installation, you click on « Gladys Plus Restoration » and then you sign in with your Gladys Plus account (email + password + 2FA)

Then, Gladys will ask you to enter your backup key; I hope you have it handy. If you’ve lost it, unfortunately it will not be possible to restore, since everything is end-to-end encrypted and only you have the key!

Everything is in the backup, but I still recommend going through each integration to make sure everything is running smoothly

FYI, I released last night Gladys Assistant 4.45.1, on the agenda:

  • Fixed the EDF Tempo widget to migrate to the RTE API instead of the EDF API which no longer worked
  • Added a nightly task at 23:00 that will purge DB messages older than 15 days. As soon as you’re up to date and a night has passed, I recommend doing a cleanup of the SQLite DB to really free up space ^^ Now that your sensor states are no longer in SQLite, it should be quick!
  • The API no longer allows a user to update their own role
  • CalDAV: Fixed a bug on recurring events (thanks @bertrandda !)
