Gladys Assistant 4.53.0: ZWaveJS boosted & even more UX improvements!

Hello everyone,

UX improvements keep flowing in this new release! :rocket:

:hammer_and_wrench: General improvements

  • Profile menu: The « Profile Â» dropdown in the header now automatically closes when clicking outside.
  • Scroll fix in the integrations list: A bug preventing returning to the top of the list has been fixed for smoother navigation.
  • Improved sorting for cameras: Rooms are now sorted alphabetically on the camera integration page.
  • Automatic widget refresh: When the WebSocket connection is restored, dashboard widgets automatically update.

:bar_chart: Chart improvements

  • New units supported: Added additional units to handle data where a decrease is positive (e.g.: COâ‚‚ level).
  • Optimized display for large values: Scientific notation now only activates above 10 billion for better readability.
  • New 12-hour interval: An additional time interval makes it easier to analyze half-day data.
  • Automatic closing of the intervals menu: As with the « Profile Â» menu, the time interval selection menu closes when clicking outside.

:house_with_garden: Automation and scenes

  • Improved search in scenes: Search now ignores accents for more accurate results.
  • Easier duplication of scenes: When duplicating a scenario, the title is automatically pre-filled with « Copy of [name of the original scenario] Â».
  • Fixes for tag selection bugs: Better handling of tags in the scenes interface ensures a smoother experience.

:battery: Improved support for zWaveJS

Added support for new features for devices using zWaveJS:

  • Battery sensors
  • Light sensors
  • Binary sensors
  • Alarm sensors

Thanks to @Sescandell for the work!

:house: Other improvements

  • More flexible widgets: It is now possible to make the title optional in the « Device Â» and « Scene Â» widgets, offering more customization.
  • Feedback when cleaning the database: A notification is now shown at the end of the cleanup process.

:rocket: Upcoming developments

Work on the UX continues with two major projects underway:

  • Advanced conditions in scenes (IF… THEN… ELSE): Soon, you’ll be able to add conditions to your scenarios for smarter automation. @StephaneB is currently working on mockups for this new feature. (Discover here)
  • Improvement of the MQTT integration: The current experience lacks clarity — devices appear too bulky and the notion of « features Â» is hard to understand. We’re thinking about a more intuitive presentation. (Discover here)

Thanks for your support and feedback! :blue_heart:
