Gladys Assistant 4.57: One-click forced update ✅

I am happy to announce the release of Gladys Assistant version 4.57

This update brings several improvements, bug fixes, and new features requested by the community.

:white_check_mark: What’s New

  • Gladys update button: It is now easier to update your Gladys Assistant installation thanks to a dedicated button in the interface! Until now, Gladys updated automatically within 24 hours but it wasn’t possible to force an update from the interface. Now, if you want to force the update, you can do it from the “Settings” view:

  • Support for shutters/curtains in HomeKit: Thanks to the addition from @bertrandda, you can now control your Gladys roller shutters in the « Home » app on HomeKit.

  • Volume control for voice announcements: A new option
allows setting the output volume when using the “speak on a speaker” function. Useful to adjust Gladys’ voice depending on the time or the room :speaking_head::speaker_high_volume: Note that on integrations that support it, the volume returns to the previous level after the voice announcement. Thanks @bertrandda for the feature

:bug: Fixes

  • Fix for a bug in scenes: An issue occurred when deleting an action in a scene that contained variables, which broke the variables used in subsequent actions. This bug is fixed!
  • Fix for dashboard flickering: The dashboard could sometimes flash 2-3 times after returning to a tab that had been left open for a long time. This annoying behavior has been resolved :white_check_mark:
  • Deprecation of the “Devices in a room” widget: This widget is now deprecated, and it is no longer possible to create widgets of this type. Existing widgets are not affected. I recommend using the “Devices” widget, which is much more practical because each row’s name is fully customizable!

Thanks to all contributors and our community for your feedback, testing and energy! :folded_hands:

See you soon for the next release :rocket:

I think it would have been better if there had been an earlier version with a button to force an update to this 4.57 version that allows forcing updates :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Okay, I’m out… (Whoa, I know, that expression is a bit old-fashioned…)

I updated the HomeKit documentation in French and English to add the new compatibilities:

@pierre-gilles ,
Did you change anything in LANManager ?

2025-04-20T20:33:55+0200 \u003cerror\u003e lan-manager.scan.js:58 (NmapScan.onError) LANManager fails to discover devices over network - Over scan timeout 60000
2025-04-20T20:33:55+0200 \u003cinfo\u003e lan-manager.stop.js:12 (LANManager.stop) LANManager stops scanning devices

Weird, no issues on my end

Hi @GBoulvin !

Normally no, nothing has changed on that front.

If you go to the integration « LAN Manger » then « LAN Discovery » and click on « Search on the network », does it work or not?

No, nothing at all appears, no devices.
However, Gladys does have access to the local network and the Internet.
I haven’t yet taken the time to really look into it. I’ll create a specific thread if needed.
