Hello everyone!
This is the start-of-year update, and it includes many developments that were made in December ![]()
What are the changes?
- There is now a new eWelink integration:
- As well as a TP-Link integration, developed by @cicoub13:
-
Regarding the MQTT integration, the client ID is now a clear ID suffixed with a randomly generated number, to allow users who want to run multiple Gladys instances at the same time, while having MQTT functional. Thanks @VonOx for the fix!
-
The Tasmota integration now supports distance sensors, thanks to @AlexTrovato
-
The long-awaited color-picker is now here! Well done @AlexTrovato

In addition to all this, there have been many small bug fixes ![]()
The complete changelog is available on GitHub.
How to update?
If you installed Gladys with the official Raspbian image, your instances will update automatically in the coming hours. This can take up to 24 hours, no need to worry.
If you installed Gladys with Docker, make sure you are using Watchtower (See the documentation)
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this release!
On my side
On my side, the start of the year is busy, I am currently working on an article/feature that will be published in a specialized print magazine. It’s time-consuming but specialized press is really the best for attracting new users ![]()
Once I have finished this feature, I will go back to development where I was before the holidays, I was working on variable injection in scenes: for example, being able to inject variables in the « text » field of the « send a message » box.
For information for those interested, we will have a developer call Wednesday, January 13th at 9 PM. The goal is to allow developers to ask all their questions and to exchange on the developments in progress. If you are interested, reply to this post and I will add you to the group.
And as a reminder, I published an article 2020 year in review last week ![]()
Happy New Year to everyone! ![]()
