Hue Tap Dial Switch problem

Hi, I have a Hue Tap Dial Switch that I want to use to control 2 Hue E27 bulbs via Gladts, Z2M and my Zigbee key.

I bound my remote to my lights on Z2M, with the « genLevelCtrl » cluster only, which I use to dim reactively.

Now I would like to create Gladys scenes for the 4 buttons of the remote, but I can’t get them to work. For example, I want to press button 1 to turn my lights ON/OFF. When I manually run the scene, it works, but when I press my button 1, nothing happens:

I deduce that my trigger is not correct, but I don’t know what to put instead.

Hi @curing,

To figure out where the issue is, we need to track the press of button 1 at each step, from Z2M to Gladys:

1. In Zigbee2MQTT

  • Open the Tap Dial page in the Z2M interface, go to the State (or Exposes) tab, then press button 1.
  • Does the action field change? What exact value is displayed? I expect something like button_1_press, then button_1_press_release.
  • You can also check the Logs tab in Z2M at the time of the press and copy here the line MQTT publish: topic 'zigbee2mqtt/<your_tap_dial>', payload '{...}'.

2. In Gladys

  • Go to Integrations > Zigbee2MQTT, open your Tap Dial, and take a screenshot of the created features.
  • Press button 1 and check in Activity (or on a dashboard box that displays the remote) if a state change is reported, and with what value.

In summary:

  • Nothing in Z2M: the issue is with the remote or the binding.
  • Something in Z2M but nothing in Gladys: the issue is with the mapping between Z2M and Gladys.
  • The state arrives in Gladys: it’s a bug that needs to be analyzed.

Thanks!
