External integration - Easee

cover-easee

Hi everyone!

After the Tesla Wall Connector, another charging station you often see in garages: Easee. Charging during off-peak hours without thinking about it, knowing how many kWh have gone into the car, and easing off when the house is drawing too much from the meter: all of this can now be done from Gladys.

What it does

  • One device per charging station (Home, Charge, Charge Lite, Max, Up, Core, Pro, One):
    • the connector status (available, vehicle connected, offline, in fault) and charging state;
    • the charging power and current per phase;
    • the session energy and total energy, usable by Gladys 5.2’s energy tracking.
  • Commands: allowed charging (start or resume / pause), current limit (0, or up to the maximum of the charging station), and charging station activated or not.
  • The Equalizer: grid import and export, current per phase, imported and exported energy meters.
  • Two triggers: « Vehicle connected » and « Charging complete » (with the kWh of the session).
  • A scene action « Control an Easee charge »: start, pause, or stop.
  • An « Easee charging station » widget: status, power, session energy, and the right buttons depending on the situation.
  • In French, English, German, and Spanish.

No commands are sent without a vehicle connected, and cable locking is intentionally not offered: no question of a poorly set scene releasing the cable in the parking lot.

The nice thing

10 p.m. → « Start or resume »; 6 a.m. → « Pause », charging remains during off-peak hours
The Equalizer exceeds 9 kW of import → charging station limited to 6 A; below 6 kW, back to 16 A
9 p.m. on weekdays, connector « available » → « The car is not connected »

Installation

:warning: Gladys 5.1 minimum (5.2 for energy tracking).

It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-easee: Easee EV chargers for Gladys Assistant · GitHub

  1. In Gladys: the email (or phone) and password of the Easee account, then Test the connection.
  2. Discovery tab: add your charging stations and the Equalizer.

Honest small reservations

  • Cloud only, and no real-time: the state is re-read every 1, 2, or 5 minutes, and 10 seconds after each command.
  • The total energy is only updated by Easee approximately once per hour.
  • Solar or smart charging, schedules, and RFID badges remain in the Easee app (or in evcc).
  • Rejected credentials cut all requests until the next configuration save, to avoid locking the account.
  • Developed without a charging station. I verified from home that the real Easee cloud properly rejects a fake account, but no real charging station has passed yet: the exact form of the Equalizer’s responses and the order of the phases remain to be confirmed. If you have an Easee, I’m very open to feedback.

Like the previous ones, developed with Claude Code. Independent project, not affiliated with Easee.
