Hi everyone!
For those who prefer to keep their notifications at home rather than using an online service: here is Gotify, the self-hosted push notification server, as a messaging channel for Gladys. It’s the counterpart to @callemand’s ntfy integration. Everything happens locally, on your own server.
What it does
- Gladys messages arrive in Gotify: the « Send a message » scenes, Gladys’ responses, system messages. Each household member chooses their token and priority in « My account ».
- A scene action « Send a Gotify notification »: title, message in Markdown, priority, link opened on tap, and large image (Android).
- Three triggers: Gotify server offline, server back online, and notification not sent (useful for switching to another channel).
- A small « Gotify » widget: server status and version, today’s sends, and a « Send a test » button.
The cool part
Alarm triggered → priority 8 notification with a link to the camera
Gotify notification not sent → switch to SMS or email
Gotify server offline → the desk lamp turns red
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum.
It will arrive in the store at the next indexer update. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address GitHub - guim31/gladys-gotify: Gotify notifications for Gladys Assistant: send Gladys messages to your own Gotify server · GitHub
- In Gotify: Apps → Create application, and copy its token.
- In Gladys: your server address and the token, then « Send a test notification ».
- Each person then completes « My account » if they want their own application or a different priority.
Honest caveats: it’s a one-way send (Gotify has no response), there are no attachments, and there is no official iOS app. It has been tested against a real Gotify 3.1 server in a container (sends read by the API, bad token, server cut then restarted, self-signed HTTPS), but not yet on a phone with a real Gladys.
Coded with the help of Claude Code. Independent project, not affiliated with Gotify.
