External integration - Miele (appliances)

Hi everyone! :waving_hand:

« Is the machine finished? » The question we ask ten times a day at home :sweat_smile: If your appliance is a connected Miele (Miele@home), Gladys can now answer it. Miele uses the official Miele API, and does not require Gladys Plus.

What it does

  • One Miele appliance at a time (washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, oven, hood, hob, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, robot) with:
    • the status, the program and the current phase, the remaining time and the expected end time;
    • the door open or closed;
    • the temperatures (oven, refrigerator, freezer, cooking probe);
    • the water and energy consumed by the program, when the appliance provides them.
  • Commands that are not dangerous: start/stop of the washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, hood and coffee maker, lights, fridge and freezer settings, SuperFrost/SuperCool.
  • Two triggers: « program finished » (with the kWh and liters consumed) and « appliance failure ».
  • A scene action: start, pause, stop a program (start only for laundry and dishes, with remote start enabled on the appliance).
  • A « Miele Appliances » widget: what’s running, and the remaining time.
  • Changes arrive in real-time via the Miele event stream.
  • In French, English, German and Spanish.

Voluntarily, nothing that heats up turns on remotely: oven, hobs, microwave and heated drawers only have the light that can be controlled. Two locks in the code, tested separately.

The cool part

Washing machine finished → « The machine is finished » on the phone, or on the living room speaker :basket:
Dishwasher finished → turn the kitchen light back on
Freezer door open for more than 2 minutes → alert

Installation

:warning: Gladys 5.1 minimum.

It will arrive in the store at the next indexer run. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with GitHub - guim31/gladys-miele: Miele appliances for Gladys Assistant through the official Miele API: status, program, time left, remote start · GitHub

  1. Request your developer credentials from Miele, free of charge, with their form: you receive a Client ID and a Client Secret by email.
  2. Paste them into the integration configuration, save, then click on Connect and log in with your Miele account.
  3. Discovery tab: add your appliances.

Honest small reservations

  • Developed without Miele appliance or account: everything was tested on real responses from the Miele API (taken from Home Assistant tests). The actual connection to Miele is the first thing to validate: your feedback is welcome :folded_hands:
  • Program names come from Miele, which only provides them in English or German.

Like the previous ones, developed with Claude Code. Independent project, not affiliated with Miele.
