[External integration] Nord Pool: electricity spot prices, off-peak hours and contracts for energy monitoring

Hello everyone,

For our European friends, the Nord Pool integration is available in the store (v1.0.0):

This is an unofficial connector, with no link to Nord Pool. It reads the next day’s electricity prices (day-ahead auction) from Nord Pool’s public portal, no account or key required: nothing to create, you choose your zone and you’re good to go. It requires Gladys 5.2.

What it brings

22 market zones: France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany/Luxembourg, Austria, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark (2), Sweden (4), Norway (5).

Surface Content
One device per zone current price, next time slot price, average, minimum and maximum for the day, per kWh, in EUR, SEK, NOK, DKK or PLN
Scene triggers « start/end of off-peak hours » (the N cheapest hours of the day, N adjustable), « price level change » (very cheap → very expensive, compared to the day’s average), « tomorrow’s prices published » (with the average, min, max and the cheapest window)
Dashboard widget now, next, today’s and tomorrow’s averages, daily curve with current time, price level, cheapest window
Energy contracts (Gladys 5.2 new feature) spot prices from ten zones feed tariff calendars every 15 minutes (spot-fr, spot-be, spot-nl, spot-de-lu, spot-at, spot-fi, spot-dk1, spot-dk2, spot-se3, spot-no1), with a « Nord Pool Spot » contract model per zone: spot price + supplier margin + subscription + VAT (pre-filled by country). Your costs follow the real price slot by slot, and the « current price » core widget works with it

Scene examples: start the water heater or car charging at the beginning of off-peak hours, cut non-essentials when the level goes to « very expensive », receive every noon the cheapest window of tomorrow.

How it works

  • Reading at startup then every hour; tomorrow’s prices are requested from 12:45 p.m. CET every 10 minutes until publication.
  • Advanced sensors move every 15 minutes (the market’s step since October 2025).
  • Calendars are filled six weeks back at first installation, so a contract dated last month is priced.
  • Prices are from the wholesale market: the contract model lets you add your supplier’s margin, network fees per kWh and VAT.

The limits

  • The store allows ten calendars per integration: the other twelve zones have their sensors and triggers, but no contract yet. Let me know if yours is missing.
  • The Nord Pool portal only keeps about six weeks of history.
  • Everything was developed blind on the portal’s real data, but not yet with a contract on a real 5.2 instance: the first feedback on contracts interests me particularly.
