Hi everyone!
I have an Unraid server at home, and until now I only knew if a disk was overheating or if a parity check had found errors by going to open the interface. Since Unraid 7.2, the official API is integrated into the system: here is Unraid for Gladys, locally.
What it does
- The server: online status, processor, memory, temperature, array status with parity check progress, used and free space, parity errors, unread alerts, available container updates.
- One device per disk: temperature, sleep, space, errors. Reading never wakes up a sleeping disk.
- One device per Docker container (on/off switch, update available) and per VM (start, shut down cleanly).
- The UPS if it is managed by Unraid: battery, runtime, load, on battery.
- An Unraid widget: the essentials of the server, then what requires attention, with buttons for a container or a VM of your choice (shutdown requires confirmation).
- Triggers: disk in error, disk too hot, parity check completed (with or without errors), container stopped, new Unraid notification. And actions to control a container or a VM, or retrieve a summary of the server status.
The cool thing
Parity check completed with errors → message on the phone
Disk too hot → notification with the disk name and its temperature
Every morning → the « Unraid server status » summary by message
Caution
Permissions are set on the Unraid side: a Viewer key remains read-only, you need to add Docker and VM permissions to control. Nothing acts on the array or the server itself, a VM is never forcefully shut down, and Gladys containers are not controllable (to avoid a scene cutting the branch it is sitting on ^^).
Installation
Gladys 5.1 minimum, Unraid 7.2 minimum.
It will arrive in the store at the next indexer update. In the meantime: Integrations → Install from GitHub, with the address GitHub - guim31/gladys-unraid: Unraid server monitoring for Gladys Assistant: array, disks, parity, Docker containers and VMs · GitHub
- In Unraid: Settings → Management Access → API Keys, create a key.
- In Gladys: the server address and the key, then Test the connection.
- Add the desired devices from the Discovery tab.
Tested at home on my own Unraid server: everything works. A few limitations though: one server per installation for now, no CPU or memory per container (the API does not give them easily), and Unraid 6 is not supported.
