HomeKit Controller integration: control your HomeKit accessories from Gladys, no Apple hardware required

Hello everyone,

I’ve developed an integration that turns Gladys into a HomeKit controller. Gladys pairs directly with your HomeKit accessories and controls them locally, without an iPhone, Apple TV, or HomePod, and without the cloud.

I’m looking for testers to validate it on real hardware.

Installation

What it does

  • Searches for HomeKit accessories on the network.
  • Pairs with the 8-digit code (123-45-678).
  • Updates states in real-time, plus a full read every 60 seconds for safety.
  • Automatic reconnection, and the accessory is found even if its IP changes.
  • Manages bridges: one Gladys device per connected accessory.
  • Available actions: search, pair, identify (the accessory flashes or beeps), unpair.

Supported devices

  • Bulbs: on/off, brightness, color, color temperature
  • Switches, outlets, valves
  • Fans (with speed)
  • Thermostats: temperature, setpoint, humidity
  • Shutters, blinds, windows, doors: position, open / stop / close
  • Locks
  • Sensors: temperature, humidity, brightness, motion, presence, opening, leak, smoke, CO, CO2, PM2.5 / PM10
  • Battery level
  • Programmable buttons and doorbells (via scenes, see below)

Scenes

  • Trigger « HomeKit Button Pressed »: single, double, or long press, with filtering by device and button number. Useful for remotes (Eve Button…) and doorbells.
  • Trigger « HomeKit Accessory Lost / Returned »: to be notified when an accessory no longer responds.
  • Action « Identify a HomeKit Device »: the accessory signals itself.
  • Action « Reread a HomeKit Device »: rereads its values immediately, useful before a condition.

Dashboard widget

  • « HomeKit Accessories »: number of online and offline accessories, the list, and a Reconnect button when one of them no longer responds.

Limitations

  • Only IP accessories (Wi-Fi / Ethernet). No Bluetooth or Thread.
  • No cameras or TVs yet.

Before testing

  • A HomeKit accessory only accepts one controller. Remove it first from the Home app (or Home Assistant), or reset it.
  • Keep the 8-digit code handy.
  • The accessory and Gladys must be on the same network (same VLAN).

What I’d like to know

  • The brand and model of your accessories
  • Whether the search and pairing worked
  • Whether the commands and states are coming back correctly
  • Whether the buttons trigger your scenes (single / double / long)
  • Whether the widget displays the correct state
  • Any issues encountered, with logs (LOG_LEVEL=debug) if possible

Feedback is welcome here or in the GitHub issues: Issues · prohand/gladys-homekitcontroller · GitHub

Thanks in advance to those who will test! :folded_hands:
