I was told it was intuitive, yet I’m struggling to integrate my devices.
I have 2 Reolink Argus Pro 3 solar Wi-Fi cameras.
I’ve watched tutorials, followed the documentation, but I can’t get them integrated.
When I read forum messages, people talk about the app with advanced network functions, but I can’t find these settings. Neither on the Android app nor on the Windows app.
Don’t worry, it’s not you who’s struggling: if you can’t find these advanced network settings, it’s because they don’t exist on your camera. The Argus 3 Pro, like most Reolink battery-powered cameras, do not offer RTSP, ONVIF, or the local HTTP API (Reolink FAQ). To save battery, they sleep and only communicate with the Reolink app. The forum messages you read concern mains-powered cameras.
As a result, only connected via Wi-Fi, Gladys has no way to reach them: neither with the Gladys RTSP camera, nor with the Reolink integration from the store.
The solution is a Reolink Home Hub (or Home Hub Mini / Pro). The Argus 3 Pro are on its compatibility list, and it’s the hub that makes the cameras accessible on the local network. Then, the Reolink integration by @Will_71, in the store, can retrieve them behind the hub: one camera = one device in Gladys, with the image, detections, battery level, and solar panel charging status. It even spaces out captures when the battery is low, which is quite clever for solar cameras.
Hi and welcome, as @guim31 says, battery-powered cameras, with or without solar, are complicated.
For the TAPO brand, for example, I managed to retrieve the stream from one of my solar cameras and when I connect it to Gladys, the battery drains very quickly. In summer, in full sun, I couldn’t recharge it.
This is one of the reasons why it cuts off the RTSP streams.
