[Integration] TickTick: your tasks in Gladys

Hello everyone :waving_hand:

I’m introducing a new external integration for Gladys: TickTick, the task manager. It allows you to find your tasks in Gladys and use them in scenes.

What it does

  • A « TickTick Tasks » dashboard widget
    • two counters: overdue tasks and today’s tasks;
    • up to 8 tasks with their list, deadline, and priority. A click on a task displays its notes and a link to open it in TickTick;
    • selectable period for each widget: today and overdue, today, overdue, or next 7 days.
  • A « TickTick Task Due » scene trigger
    • it starts at the task’s time, or at an adjustable time (9 a.m. by default) for all-day tasks;
    • possible filters by priority and by list;
    • available variables: title, list, priority, date, time, notes.
  • A « Create a TickTick Task » scene action: title, list, deadline today or tomorrow (with a time if needed), priority.
  • A « List TickTick Tasks » scene action: returns the number of tasks and their titles, one per line. Ideal for a notification or a voice message.

Some scene ideas

  • :sun: Every morning at 7:30 a.m., if there are tasks, receive « Today: {{titles}} » on your phone.
  • :wastebasket: On Monday at 7 p.m., create the task « Take out the trash » for the same evening.
  • :bell: When a high-priority task is due, make a lamp blink or announce it on the living room speaker.

Prerequisites

  • Gladys 5.1 or newer (scene integrations of external integrations);
  • a TickTick account, free or Premium.

Installation and configuration

  1. Install TickTick from the Gladys integrations catalog.
  2. On developer.ticktick.com/manage, create an application (New App, name of your choice).
  3. In the application settings (Fill in the Edit redirect URL field with the URI displayed in Gladys, under the Connect button (usually https://my.gladysassistant.com/redirect/oauth).
  4. Copy the Client ID and the Client secret into the Gladys configuration page, then click on Save.
  5. Click on Connect and authorize the connection.

:warning: **Be careful with the order of steps 4 and 5: You must first click on
Save, otherwise the integration won’t see your Client ID.

The access granted by TickTick lasts for several months. When it expires, the integration indicates it and you just need to click on Connect again.
