Sonoff switch "SwitchManR5"

Hello everyone,
I purchased a Sonoff « SwitchManR5 » switch; I would like to know if this switch is compatible with zigbee2mqtt..?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

No, it is not (Zigbee2Mqtt Supported Devices)

You have documentation here if you want to make it compatible Support new devices | Zigbee2MQTT

Thanks for your reply…

Question: what switch do you recommend?

Setup: I have a scene that turns on a socket (NOUS Smart ZigBee Socket) at sunset, to which an ambient lamp is connected, and another scene that turns it off at 12:30 AM. Both scenes work perfectly.

Idea: I would like to be able to turn

@lmilcent had made a comprehensive post about Zigbee switches here Interrupteurs connectés - #6 par lmilcent

Personally I only have battery-powered Aqara switches (I don’t want anything installed in the walls).
I have them in 2-double-button and 3-double-button versions, or even the simple push button, everything works very well

Thanks for your feedback…
Just a layman’s question — I spotted on Amazon an « Aqara Smart Wireless Switch » but it requires the AQARA Hub. Is it mandatory with Gladys..?

No, because it is compatible with zigbee2mqtt. So if you do have a zigbee2mqtt dongle then your switch will work.

Personally, before buying hardware, I always use the page that @cicoub13 gave you, namely: Zigbee2MQTT, which lists all devices compatible with zigbee2mqtt (the list just keeps growing).
If your device is on that list, regardless of its brand, it will not require a particular hub / gateway.

Thanks for your explanation, that clears up a few fuzzy points about ZigBee2MQTT, I had suspected that Gladys would substitute for a gateway hub. I will therefore use @cicoub13’s list to buy hardware.

Thanks for the reply.

Small important clarification: everything on the list is managed by zigbee2mqtt, but not necessarily supported by Gladys.

Basically: all basic devices (switches / bulbs / relays / contact sensors / etc.) will be very well handled by Gladys.
However, it can happen that some more exotic devices are not supported by Gladys (because they report information that Gladys doesn’t yet know how to handle).

In that second case you will have 2 options:

  • report on the forum what doesn’t work and patiently wait for someone to look into the issue and integrate it into Gladys
  • or work around the problem by using, for example, Node-RED, which can serve as a sort of gateway to make the information understandable by Gladys.

In any case, don’t hesitate to ask questions here!

Hello everyone,
I bought an AQARA Zigbee3.0 switch (H1 Double Rocker).
Integration and pairing successful.
It controls a NOUS-Smart Zigbee Socktet to which a floor lamp is connected… Switch placed on the living room table.
Thanks to @cicoub13’s list and @guim31’s advice
