Mistral vs ElevenLabs: Is the vocal revolution French? 🇫🇷

Hello everyone,

Last week, Mistral released a new Text-to-Speech model (Voxtral) capable of running 100% locally without sending any data to the cloud.

It complements their Speech-to-Text model released in February.

I wanted to test it against ElevenLabs to see what it was really worth, and honestly, the results are really good!

I show you that in my latest video:

Change on Gladys Plus: Switch to Mistral Small 3.2 at Scaleway

Taking advantage of this exploration of Mistral models, I take the opportunity to announce a change on the AI of Gladys Plus.

I am replacing OpenAI GPT-5 mini with Mistral Small 3.2, hosted in France at Scaleway :france:

The model is faster, cheaper, and the data remains on a French sovereign host. It’s a win-win-win!

Concretely, this affects:

  • The analysis of images from your cameras
  • Proactive scenes
  • Discussions with the AI

And since the model is cheaper to run, I take the opportunity to increase the monthly quotas included in the subscription:

  • 3,000 text requests / month
  • 500 camera image analyses / month

My goal is to unlock new uses for you. If the AI divides the prices by 10 again in the coming months, then I will increase the thresholds

If you have any questions about this change or feedback after testing, feel free to reply here!
