Greetings everyone!
I’m starting to automate my apartment, and voice commands are key to making it easy and intuitive in my opinion (it also needs to be fun so that my girlfriend lets me play… the idea of saying « Aziz light » really gets her going…).
Being an « old » geek, the idea of an online recognition system bothers me (as does giving the keys to my home to a GAFA), so Gladys (I also looked at others, Gladys seems the most suitable for my needs) will soon be in the testing phase…
But I need a microphone that can handle it!
I think I’ll get a toy like the ReSpeaker 4, to graft onto the rasp 3B+ which is on its way to the house…
I’m a total noob when it comes to rasps, but I’ve been getting my hands dirty for years on all sorts of different projects… not scared at all!
Very happy to have found you!
Hello!
Welcome to Gladys ![]()
Don’t hesitate if you have any problems, create topics, ask questions, it’s open ![]()
Thanks Pierre Gilles!
(I saw that you chose to dedicate time to this project! Thanks to you!)
(I’ve been reading about assistants for a while and now more about Gladys, which seems the most advanced/maintained)
Quick question, what speaker did you choose for audio feedback?
(I’m thinking I should be able to find something in recovery!)
Thanks also VonOx! (Yeah, the fifth element is awesome!!)
Welcome to the adventure.
You’ll meet Gladys, she’s like a baby, expect a few sleepless nights ![]()
Raspberry on order, as well as a small powered USB hub, I already have speakers, a small Chinese Bluetooth keyboard, a screen, a respeaker on order…
If everything arrives before the weekend, I’ll start playing!!!
Watch out, here I come ![]()
This means I might risk being really annoying this weekend with a few thousand questions!!
Good luck to you!!
No worries, the community is here for that ![]()
