Hello everyone!
This is our first post on the Gladys Community forum.
We are two engineers from Brittany in our twenties who became interested in Gladys a few months ago.
We started looking into home automation when Mathilde’s grandmother had mobility issues, limiting her ability to manually control the lighting in her home.
In winter, she often found herself in the dark, disoriented, unable to turn on the lights.
We therefore looked for a solution to control the lighting in her home by voice. A particular feature of our need is that she does not have an internet connection, so we needed a solution that could run completely offline.
Among the different solutions found, Gladys appealed to us because it is open source, the community is active and friendly, it is evolving and compatible with a lot of hardware.
Thanks to Gladys, she can now turn the lights on/off by voice and we are currently thinking about expanding to other uses, especially for us, in our future home.
For us, home automation and Gladys have a strong potential for helping elderly people stay at home.
In short, thank you for all the work you have done and your availability.
We will post our installation in the dedicated category soon.
See you soon!
