That’s what I’m already doing; actually my question was whether @Terdious’s PR would really be useful to me or not?

Not in this case, no!

Let’s say that for my part, it seemed more logical to operate entirely between Gladys and Node-RED, it avoids having things running separately. For my part, I use it for energy (retrieving the latest data, calculations then sending it back into Gladys — I’m sure I always have the correct data even in case of a restart), for Netatmo (in production/dev version). Moreover everything is directly backed up with Gladys Plus. And it’s THE home automation database, so it seemed coherent to me.
Of course, one can always manage differently, as you do, and it works very well ^^ Especially since it’s not implemented anyway. But it’s not within everyone’s reach ^^

In any case @pierre-gilles is certainly better placed than I am to talk about it!

Sorry for having caused confusion @_Will_71 ^^

Don’t worry @Terdious, you didn’t cause any trouble, we’re here to discuss solutions that can improve Gladys and any feedback is welcome.

When I wrote my function I didn’t even ask myself that question — I directly saved the values to a file, but if your PR can do what I need without that operation then yes, that would be even better.
